Bhakti Society

The BHAKTI SOCIETY was formed by His Divine Grace Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja as a foundation to facilitate the practice and delivery of Bhakti-yoga and Gaudiya Vaishnavism, for all people of the world. Bhakti-yoga means union with God through loving devotional service. The words ‘Gaudiya Vaishnava’ refer to anyone who practices bhakti-yoga and is therefore a devotee of Sri Krishna in the line of the great preceptor Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Being based on the Vedic Literatures, this path is guided by a universal philosophy and a practical way of life. It can be adopted by everyone, regardless of one’s stated religion, age, gender, race, creed or nationality. The ideals of bhakti-yoga are non-sectarian as they relate to the eternal function of every living being in relationship with the Supreme Conscious Being, known in the Vedas as Lord Sri Krishna.

The BHAKTI SOCIETY is managed by an advisory board that gives guidance to associated projects around the world. The advisory board does not make executive decisions on local community projects, rather it is designed to be a vehicle for serving and facilitating people who are interested to practice and share bhakti-yoga. It acts as an ‘advice bureau’ that devotees independently consult on how to make their activities complementary and harmonious with the tenants of pure bhakti-yoga and the desire and instructions of the founder, Srila Narayana Maharaja. It is an objective of the founder that BHAKTI SOCIETY serve the global community by providing a flexible, organic, responsive, dynamic structure that helps everyone grow in pursuit of their eternal relationship with Sri Krishna.

Sri Srimad BV Narayana Maharaja has established this society with the desire that it be guided by the essential principles of love and affection. Devotees and friends from around the world are free to participate in the aims and objectives of the society, and – of their own accord – to receive encouragement, advice and support to help them succeed in their respective practice and sharing efforts.
