1. Bhajana/Kirtana and prayer for Srila Gurudeva’s blessing to conduct a successful meeting in line with Vaisnava etiquette.
2. Voting on the following proposals which require a special resolution:
PROPOSAL 1: To amend the name of the Incorporated Assoication from:
Giriraja Govardhana Gaudiya Math The Original Hare Krishna Movement to:
(a) Giriraja Govardhana Gaudiya Math Hare Krishna Movement
(b) Giriraja Govardhana Gaudiya Math, or
(c) To leave the name as is – Giriraja Govardhana Gaudiya Math The Original Hare Krishna Movement
PROPOSAL 2: To adopt The Model Rules of the Associations Incorporation Act, 1984 as the interim constitution for the period of twelve months. (This will allow us time to generate a properly researched and relevant constitution suitable for our specific requirements.)

EXPLANATION OF PROPOSALS TO BE VOTED ON AT THE GENERAL MEETING OCTOBER 23, 2004 AT 2.30PM
Change of Name:
As we are currently in the process of transferring the temple land into the name of the Association, it is important that we “get it right” in order to avoid any legal costs of a change of name in the future.
It is considered by many devotees that the present name is antagonistic towards ISKCON and is not assisting in developing good relationships with ISKCON and other Vaishnava sangas.
Change of Constitution:
The proposal to adopt the Model Rules is two fold: It is necessary to send a copy of our constitution with much of the paperwork that is being done a present ie: applying for an authority to fundraise, stamp duty exemption on the land purchase etc. Our current constitution is difficult to understand in certain sections and is also incomplete in other sections.
As we need to spend a great deal of time writing a new constitution in order to “get it right”, the committee has decided to put forward the proposal of adopting the Model Rules in the meantime in order to meet these objectives.
Please consider the above reasons carefully before you vote.
